# Why does my optimized BlitzBear article still show old text that I expected to be replaced?

After optimizing an article with BlitzBear, we recommend previewing the changes to ensure quality.

For example, take a look at the image below. The left-side *Before* version shows the initial introduction paragraph highlighted in red. On the right-side *After* version, the new introduction paragraph is highlighted in blue, however the old introduction paragraph still remains.

To resolve this, you should manually remove the old paragraph in your CMS when making changes to your article.

<figure><img src="https://488666016-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FS4vYXiFi4Y6HS1bAJh3o%2Fuploads%2FdxaGS1zTU2uHPrVvR7IO%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=db267d66-933f-4297-ba48-747435680de7" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

{% hint style="info" %}
This issue occurs due to current limitations with AI models. As LLM technology progresses, we anticipate this to be resolved over time.
{% endhint %}

# Why do my suggested optimizations only cover the first part or less of my article?

This behavior has been observed at different times for different articles.

BlitzBear will usually give the top 15-20 recommendations per article (sometimes even up to 30), however optimization suggestions may not necessarily cover the full span of the article's contents evenly.

This is due to current LLM limitations combined with the amount of processing that BlitzBear performs (e.g, we send many back-and-forth API requests to generate optimizations in a cohesive context with full markup intact). Because of this, the AI may not always provide recommendations spread evenly throughout the article. As LLM technology progresses, we anticipate this issue to be resolved completely.

It is important to note that even when SEO optimizations cover just the first half or less of an article, increases in SERP rankings can still be achieved. [Learn more by reading this case study](https://blitzbear.com/case-studies/growsurf#effects-on-article-positions-in-google).

# What kind of pages can I optimize using BlitzBear?

Although BlitzBear is suited to optimize blog articles, if there's enough text on the webpage it would be possible to optimize that page (e.g, product/marketing pages).

# I received an error on my dashboard. What should I do?

Your BlitzBear dashboard will show any errors that occur during SEO optimization.

* **For newly generated articles:** To regenerate the article, click *More Actions > Regenerate.*
* **For optimized existing articles:** To re-optimize the article, click *More Actions > Re-optimize.*

<figure><img src="https://488666016-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FS4vYXiFi4Y6HS1bAJh3o%2Fuploads%2FaVhDFu8XNcYyUsYZ1wbA%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=527a5b5a-2fc5-453c-ac0d-6a84f7adbc7c" alt=""><figcaption><p><em>More actions > Re-optimize</em></p></figcaption></figure>

You may also reach out to BlitzBear support and provide the article URL and error message so that we may investigate further. The error details can be shown in the *View error details* button (see image below):

<figure><img src="https://488666016-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FS4vYXiFi4Y6HS1bAJh3o%2Fuploads%2Fgd2qS9w4DEQbb8kNbbNn%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=f4ccff3d-3810-4200-a633-9c3e09148921" alt=""><figcaption><p><em>View error details</em></p></figcaption></figure>

{% hint style="info" %}
**Note:** Only successful generations and optimizations count towards your credit usage.
{% endhint %}

# Can I change the URL slugs in my BlitzBear articles?

If you are optimizing an existing article, you would need to update the URL slug first in your CMS before submitting the article URL to BlitzBear.

For example, if your article URL is `https://yoursite.com/blog/some-post`, you would need to update it to `https://yoursite.com/some-new-post` before submitting it to BlitzBear.

# Why am I seeing a red error on my dashboard that says "An unknown error occurred on the server"?

If you consistently see a red error that says "An unknown error occurred on the server" while using your BlitzBeard dashboard, there is a chance that you have a browser extension such as an adblocker that is causing issues.

We recommend disabling all adblockers you have while using BlitzBear or disabling any potential browser extensions that could be causing interference.

# I published a new article draft to WordPress, but I don't see it appear in my posts list.

When BlitzBear publishes an article (whether it was from scratch or regenerated), a new WordPress Post will get created. If there is an existing Post with the same URL slug, the existing Post will never get overwritten.

If you don't see the new WordPress Post, please make sure you clear your browser cache and refresh the list. Sometimes the Posts displayed in your WordPress admin panel are not up-to-date due to old cache.

# I published an optimized existing article to WordPress, but I don't see the changes applied.

When BlitzBear publishes changes to your existing WordPress post, there is a chance that changes will not appear due to old cache on your site.

Please clear the cache on your WordPress site.

It's possible that a plugin is still causing the old contents of the WordPress post to appear. Most cache plugins, like *WP Rocket*, *WP Super Cache*, or *WP Fastest Cache*, have a built-in cache feature. In that case, please follow the plugin's specific guide to clearing the WordPress cache. You may need to check your plugin’s documentation.

# Is there a way to build internal links?

At this time, automatic internal link building is not supported. We recommend using a tool like [LinkScout](https://linkscout.com).

# How do I use "Special instructions for AI"?

In your project editor, visit *Options > (Optional) Advanced AI settings*.

<figure><img src="https://488666016-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FS4vYXiFi4Y6HS1bAJh3o%2Fuploads%2FSclbVOsINbN5cNRhzyDr%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=a7f47716-e9de-4017-8916-c92e538eb999" alt=""><figcaption><p>You can add special instructions for optimizing existing articles and for generating new articles</p></figcaption></figure>

The "Special Instructions for AI" field is designed to help you tailor the AI's output to meet your specific needs. However, to ensure the best results, it's crucial to keep these instructions concise and focused. Overloading the field with too many instructions can lead to incomplete or inaccurate responses due to the current limitations of Large Language Models (LLMs).

Here’s how you can effectively use the special instructions field and examples you can copy/paste.

### Best Practices

1. **Be Concise**: Keep your instructions short and to the point. Avoid lengthy and complex instructions that may overwhelm the AI.
2. **Prioritize Key Points**: Focus on the most important aspects you want the AI to consider. Avoid adding too many requirements that could compete with BlitzBear's existing core prompts.
3. **Use Clear Language**: Write in clear, unambiguous language to reduce the chances of misinterpretation.
4. **Limit the Number of Instructions**: Aim to include only a few critical instructions. Too many rules can reduce the effectiveness of the AI.

### Examples of Effective Instructions

Here are some examples of special instructions you can use. Feel free to copy and paste them into your "Special Instructions for AI" field:

#### **Example 1: Setting the Writing Tone**

```
Please write in a friendly and conversational tone suitable for a general audience.
```

#### **Example 2: Simplifying Language**

```
Write at a 9th-grade reading level to ensure accessibility for all readers.
```

#### **Example 3: Industry-Specific Terminology**

```
Use industry-specific terms common in eCommerce when explaining concepts.
```

#### **Example 4: Focused Content Request**

```
Provide a brief summary of the content, highlighting the key takeaways.
```

**Example 5: Formatting Guidance**

```
Format the response with bullet points for easy reading.
```

### Avoiding Common Pitfalls

* **Too Many Instructions**: Instead of writing a long list of detailed requirements, select the most crucial ones. **Too Long**:

  ```
  Provide a summary, a detailed analysis, key takeaways, external authority links, an FAQ section, and a call to action, all formatted with subheadings.
  ```

  **Improved**:

  ```
  Provide a summary with key takeaways and format with subheadings.
  ```
* **Conflicting Instructions**: Ensure your instructions do not contradict each other. **Conflicting**:

  ```
  Write in simple language and use technical jargon throughout.
  ```

  **Improved**:

  ```
  Write in simple language, avoiding technical jargon.
  ```

By following these guidelines and using the provided examples, you can enhance the effectiveness of your instructions and ensure the AI delivers the desired output. Remember, keeping instructions clear and concise is key.

# Google Search Console

View decayed articles and low-traffic pages that you should perform a content refresh on directly from your Google Search Console data.

## What is Google Search Console?

[Google Search Console](https://search.google.com/search-console/about) is a free service offered by Google that helps you monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot your site's presence in Google Search results. You don't have to sign up for Search Console to be included in Google Search results, but Search Console helps you understand and improve how Google sees your site.

***

## How to connect

**Step 1:** From your [BlitzBear dashboard](https://app.blitzbear.com/dashboard), open the project editor and navigate to the *2. Integrations* tab.

**Step 2**: Click the "Connect to Google Search Console" button.

<figure><img src="https://488666016-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FS4vYXiFi4Y6HS1bAJh3o%2Fuploads%2FSCSi450zUMmbwPQb551w%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=acb8c85c-4f54-46c4-8adf-ee79666a69da" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

**Step 3**: Authorize BlitzBear to access your Google Search Console data.

We'll scan your URLs and find pages that have been trending downwards for the past twelve months. You'll also be able to view pages with low impression counts.

<figure><img src="https://488666016-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FS4vYXiFi4Y6HS1bAJh3o%2Fuploads%2FTfjFsrJnRDuC5vfXJ21u%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=9e624cef-6fb0-41c7-b917-ca228519361c" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

If you click the "Add" button next to each page URL, you'll be able add the URL to your list of articles to optimize in your BlitzBear project.

# Unsplash

For brand-new articles generated by BlitzBear, a cover image from Unsplash will automatically be selected for it. The BlitzBear Unsplash integration is enabled by default.

{% hint style="warning" %}
**NOTE:** The Unsplash integration only applies to brand-new articles generated by BlitzBear. It does not apply when you optimize existing articles.
{% endhint %}

## What is Unsplash?

[Unsplash](https://unsplash.com) is a platform offering a vast collection of high-resolution, free-to-use photos contributed by a global community of photographers. It provides images for personal and commercial use without licensing fees.

***

## How to set a cover image

When you generate a brand new article using BlitzBear, a cover image will automatically be generated along with it. BlitzBear will search Unsplash using a relevant search term to find the best matching image.

The BlitzBear Unsplash integration saves you time searching for and finding cover images so that you don't have to visit the Unsplash website manually to perform those actions. You can also download the image right from BlitzBear.

***

## How to change a cover image

From your [BlitzBear dashboard](https://app.blitzbear.com/dashboard), open an article and click the cover image. You will then see suggested images you can select, or you can manually search for a different image.

You explicitly agree to pay the fees for the subscription plan opted by you through the BlitzBear platform and you authorize BlitzBear to charge the payment method you have on file in your [account settings](https://blitzbear.com/settings).

Credit cards are processed via our third-party payment provider: Stripe. BlitzBear does not store any sensitive payment information and is not liable for any unauthorized use, fraud, payment refunds, lost amount, etc.

## Refunds

If you have purchased a monthly subscription to BlitzBear and are not completely satisfied, you can request a refund within 30 days of the initial charge.

Eligibility for a refund within this period is contingent upon having utilized less than 50% of your BlitzBear credits during the current billing cycle. For example, if you are on the Business plan with 20 credits per month, you will only be eligible for a refund if you have utilized less than 10 credits.

To request a refund, simply send an email to <support@blitzbear.com>, and we will process your refund as soon as possible. Please note that refunds will be issued to the original payment method used for the purchase. Refunds may take 5-10 days to show up in your bank or credit card account.

After the 30-day period from your initial charge, we are unable to issue refunds for any reason. However, you can still cancel your subscription at any time. It is important to note that cancelling your subscription will result in the immediate forfeiture of any remaining credits. Once your plan is cancelled, these credits cannot be redeemed or refunded.

BlitzBear makes no explicit guarantees regarding improvement in search engine results pages (SERP) or search engine optimization (SEO) or specific customer results, as these can vary widely. Additionally, BlitzBear accepts no responsibility or liability for any search engine penalties that may be incurred as a consequence of using our platform. We strive to support our customers’ success, but results can depend on numerous external factors beyond our control.

If you have any questions about our refund policy or need assistance with your refund request, please don't hesitate to contact us at <support@blitzbear.com>. We're always here to help.

1. Immediate forfeiture of any remaining credits. Once your plan is cancelled, these credits cannot be redeemed or refunded. We recommend using all your credits before cancelling or downgrading plans in order to avoid losing them.
2. Immediate removal of all bonuses, including credit bonuses and project bonuses. Once your plan is cancelled, you forfeit all bonuses and cannot get them back even if upgrading to a paid plan again.
   {% endhint %}

BlitzBear is not liable for incurred transactions as a result of failure to comply with the aforementioned procedures. View [BlitzBear's Payment and Refund Policy](https://support.blitzbear.com/billing-and-account/what-is-blitzbears-payment-and-refund-policy).
